The establishment date of the park is May 22, 1926 but the US Mint listed it as May 22, 1962. A few thousand were minted and then they stopped because of the error.

2014 Great Smoky Mountains 3 Coin Set Error Set (Rare)The three-coin set features an uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, an uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Denver, and a proof quarter from the United States Mint at San Francisco. The coins are held in a durable plastic card that features a picturesque image and a brief description of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the coins, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.
