Complete Prestige Proof Set Lot of 14, U. S. Mint S, with Silver Commemoratives
This is an incredible COMPLETE set of fourteen U. Prestige Proof Sets including the following dates: 1983 and 1984, and 1986 through 1997.
Please note that no Prestige Sets were issued in 1985. Each set includes all of the circulating coinage for that year plus a commemorative silver dollar. The silver dollar in the 1983 set represented the first 90% silver dollar produced by the Mint since 1935. Eight of these sets also included a commemorative half dollar in addition to the proof Kennedy half and the silver dollar. All coins were made in San Francisco (S mint) and all are in original government packaging.
A complete set like this is very hard to assemble today because of the low mintages of the last three sets issued, particularly the 1996 set which is the key to the series. All of the sets are in sealed holders and beautifully packaged in their original leatherette or velour cases along with exterior matching boxes and certificates of authenticity.
