1956 Original US Mint Set Complete OGP - Frosty BU Coins Rainbow Toning - B2933. Gorgeous neon rainbow toned quarters in the Denver set - all around outstanding eye appeal for the set as a whole - great example of the power of the OGP's toning powers.
Frosty original BU coins with beautiful rainbow toning housed in the original "Double Mint Set" government packaging. The 1956 Mint Set saw a reduction in the number of coins per set. This was caused by the temporary end of coin production at the San Francisco Mint facility and the fact that half dollars were struck at only a single mint. This was the lowest face value contained within one of the sets from the "double mint set" era from 1947 to 1958. During this time period, sets included two examples of each coin struck for circulation.
For the present year, this included cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, and half dollars struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Starting with this year only two holders were necessary to contain the coins from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. We are happy to take additional photos of the coins upon request.
