1964 2018 Kennedy Half 102 Coin Complete UNCIRCULATED PD Set wWhitman Folders

1964 - 2018 Kennedy Half 102 Coin P&D Complete Uncirculated Set with New Whitman Folders. Up for sale is a 1964 - 2018 Kennedy Half 66 Coin set which includes all of the regular business strike Philadelphia and Denver Coins and is housed in three Whitman Folders. Most of these coins have been sourced directly from US Mint sets some of the coins, including the 1982 P&D, 1983 P&D and 2005 - 2010 P&D were not issued in mint sets (or issued in satin finishes) and have been sourced from uncirculated rolls. I have carefully cut the mint sets apart and placed the Kennedy halves in the folder (or carefully removed the coins from uncirculated rolls, as applicable).

This is a nice set of uncirculated Kennedy Halves for a very reasonable price. While there were circulating varieties from 1964 - 2000, the Kennedy half coins have never circulated extensively and therefore the surviving mintages in uncirculated condition are relatively modest. This set includes the following interesting coins.

1 1964 P&D 90% silver coins - the only 2 90% regularly struck silver coins in the Kennedy series and the last of the regularly struck silver coins meant for circulation. 2 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968 D, 1969 D - the five 40% silver regularly struck Kennedy coins.

After the price of silver became high enough that 90% silver coinage was worth more than face value the mint reduced the silver content in the regularly struck Kennedy halves for the remainder of the 60's to 40%. These are the only regularly struck 40% silver coins struck by the US Mint. 3 1970 D - In 1970 the US Mint did NOT produce a regular circulation strike half dollar. Instead they decided to include a 1970 half in the US Mint sets. The 1970 D is a 40% silver coin with a relatively low mintage.

4 1982, 1982 D, 1983, 1983 D - In 1982 and 1983 the mint did not produce mint sets. Therefore halves from these years that have survived in uncirculated condition are relatively scarce. The mintages on the post-2001 coins are relatively low in comparison to the coins in years that did have circulating mintages.
