I believe they are brilliant uncirculated (BU), but a few might have some cabinet friction. Most of the coins are blast white, while some show tinges of light golden toning.

This set is housed in a striking and unusual Capital Plastics 497 holder with ruby-red colored insert and gold lettering. But wait - there's more! The 1948 half dollar in this set exhibits a double die reverse (DDR) that appears in the Cherrypickers Guide as FS-801!
